Review
This review applies to version 1.5
The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our

Version control systems are the best friend of a developer or designer. If you have a long term project, you seriously must take in account this tool. You don't want to lose your code or go back to previous version of a file and find out that it doesn't exist anymore. With a version control system you can create a project into a code repository server and commit and update your files nice and easy. TortoiseSVN is a very easy to use interface which allows you to connect to a code repository and checkout projects and import to it. It's implemented as a Windows shell extension, right click on a folder, an you can see it in the menu. Some of the features already present in previous releases are merge support, repository browsing, friendly conflict resolution among others. One of the new features that incorporates 1.5 is Merge tracking. You can record and use merge history to avoid common cases of the repeated merge conflict. Although it has some bugs reported by the community, this is by far a valuable tool in your project. |
